Continuing Education - A hands on lesson in Masonry

Writer: Melinda Green, RA, AIAMelinda Green, RA, AIA

We are firm believers in continuing education, especially in a hands-on setting. Our team was able to attend a day long hands-on educational event at BAC local 2 / IMI Training Center in Syracuse. We learned how to apply flashing components to masonry walls as well as examine mock-up design concepts of various systems and products available.

As a result of attending this workshop we had the opportunity to send a member of our team to the International Masonry Institute's weeklong Masonry Camp. The program provided young aspiring Architects and Craftsworkers a real-life design-build challenge. These opportunities are crucial to engaging future generations of professionals and craftworkers!
